Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 2023

1. The Covenant

Welcome to StoryTellers, a platform operated by Mystery on Main Street. By accessing this platform, you are entering into a binding agreement with us. These terms govern your use of the StoryTellers guild and all content architected within its digital walls.

2. Account Creation & The Guild

To submit narratives or review manuscripts, you must create a spectral identity (account). You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your keys (passwords). Any activity under your account is your sole responsibility. We reserve the right to banish any member of the collective who violates the sanctity of our creative process.

3. Narrative Submissions & Ownership

Writers retain the copyright to their original drafts. However, upon clicking "Submit to Editors," you grant Mystery on Main Streeta worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and use your story for the purpose of editorial review.

UPON ACCEPTANCE: If your story is approved for publication in the StoryTellers platform, you agree to transfer specific exclusive rights to Mystery on Main Street in exchange for a pre-negotiated reward (payment). Detailed payment structures are available in the Writer Portal.

4. Professional Conduct

All mysteries must be original works. Plagiarism is an unforgivable transgression. You represent that you own all rights to the characters, plots, and clues provided. Any legal disputes arising from intellectual property theft are the sole liability of the submitting party.

5. Termination of Shadows

You may request to leave the guild at any time. However, accepted stories that have entered the "Approved" or "Gameplay" phases cannot be withdrawn if payment has been initiated, as they form part of the collective's historical archive.

6. Limitations of Liability

Mystery on Main Street provides this platform "as is." While we strive for perfection in our narratives, we are not liable for digital glitches, missed signals from the void, or any emotional distress caused by the terrifying nature of the mysteries shared.
